Bamboo Craft in Penglipuran

Split, shave and bind bamboo in Ketut's workshop, where every house in the village still buys its ceremonial containers.

Penglipuran sits inside a protected bamboo forest, and the village's carpenters still supply the ceremonial vessels used across Bangli. You spend a morning at the bench learning to split a culm cleanly, shave a strip and bind a simple sokasi basket you take home.
