Munduk
The story
Munduk was a colonial plantation posting, and the layered gardens — coffee under clove, cacao under both — date from that period but are now smallholder-owned. Mornings smell of drying cloves; afternoons bring cloud up the valley.
Culture
North Bali's temple style is plainer and its ceremonies less crowded. Spring shrines are still active and treated as water infrastructure, not scenery.
